NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) — A man has been jailed without bond on charges that he fatally shot a man whose body was found after a Lawrence County duplex was set on fire.
Police say 23-year-old DeAngelo Mercer, of New Castle, has been charged with criminal homicide and assault charges in the death of 46-year-old Arnold Eugene Miller, of Pittsburgh.
Miller's body was found in a home that some have described as a duplex when it caught fire early Feb. 25 in New Castle, about 45 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
Court papers indicate that three other men and a juvenile may have been present when Mercer shot Miller, but police have yet to identify the others or say whether they will also be charged.
