FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The Westminster College baseball team split its doubleheader with Elizabethtown on Friday. The Titans lost game one, 5-4, and won, 4-1, in the nightcap. Westminster improved to 7-3 overall, while the Blue Jays dropped to 4-8.

In game one, down 5-3 in the top of the seventh inning, senior Eric Dunn (Freeport, PA / Freeport) connected on a one-out double. One batter later, Dunn's brother freshman Ryan Dunn (Freeport, PA / Freeport) scored Dunn with a single to make the score 5-4. The Titans, however, were unable to tie the game. Westminster sophomore pitcher Kyle Borton (Mineral Ridge, OH / Mineral Ridge) (0-2) gave up two earned runs off four hits in 1.1 innings of work.

Westminster rebounded in game two led by back-to-back doubles in the third inning with two outs. Senior Tyler Robinson (Creston, OH / Norwayne) doubled in sophomore Jard Heck (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) followed by a two-RBI double off the bat of senior Ty Miller (Clinton, PA / Hopewell) to give the Titans a 3-0 lead.

Titan senior pitcher Liam Halferty (Pittsburgh, PA / Central Catholic) picked up his second win on the season and improved to 2-0. Halferty went 6.0 innings and only gave up one run off six hits. Classmate Nick Grow (North East, PA / North East) earned his fifth save of the season and tied Ethan Yeager (2011) for the most in a season in school-history. Grow only gave up one hit in one scoreless inning.

Westminster returns to the diamond on March 17 when it travels to La Roche for a non-conference doubleheader. Game one is slated for 1 p.m.
