Baseball: Titans Tied to Finish Sixth in 2013 PAC Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released the results of its 2013 Preseason Baseball Coaches' Poll Monday and the defending PAC Champion Westminster College was tied to finish sixth with 32 points.


 
The poll collected votes from each of the nine head baseball coaches in the PAC.

 
Washington & Jefferson totaled six of the nine available first-place votes and accumulated 77 of a maximum 81 total points. Thomas More received the second-most votes in the poll and totaled 70 points along with one first-place vote. Saint Vincent finished third in the poll with 53 points and was followed by Thiel in fourth with 49 points and one first-place vote. Waynesburg was fifth with 47 points, followed by a sixth-place tie between Bethany (32) and the Titans (32, final first-place vote). Grove City (23) in eighth and Geneva in ninth (22) rounded out the poll.

 
Westminster seniors OF Ty Robinson (Creston, Ohio/Norwayne), OF Kyle Allen (New Wilmington, Pa./West Middlesex), and P Nick Grow (North East, Pa./North East) were listed on the "Players to Watch."

 
The 2012 Titans (28-17) had a record-setting 28 wins, won its second Presidents' Athletic Conference Title in school history, recorded Westminster's first trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament, and had seven players named to the 2012 All-PAC Team. Westminster starts its 2013 season when it travels to Spring Training in Fla. on March 3.
