Spring Break with a Purpose

De-nailing the recycled hardwood to sell it at the ReStore in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C.-- A group of nearly two dozen from Westminster College became gym floor heroes of sorts during spring break.  They were part of a Habitat for Humanity trip working in North Carolina.  That's where they helped recycle part of gymnasium floor salvaged from William and Mary College in Virginia.  Pallets of salvaged flooring weighing tons were shipped to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Raleigh.

This team of students from a small college in Western Pennsylvania gave part of their spring break tearing apart the floor, de-nailing the hardwood and repackaging it for the ReStore.

The work was part of the Spring Break with a Purpose project sponsored by the Westminster Campus Ministries.  They worked with the Wake County Habitat for Humanity.  Watch our video to see what they did and how this effort will help build a home for a deserving family.
