Cantella Leads Titan Nominees on NSCAA College Division Scholar All-Region East Teams

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Five members of the Westminster College women's soccer team were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 2012 Women's College Division Scholar All-East Region teams.


Senior Jenn Cantella (Freedom, PA / Freedom) was named to the first team, while junior Jordan Steele (Falconer, NY / Falconer Central) was tabbed to the fourth team. Juniors Haley Casuccio (Coraopolis, PA / West Allegheny), Maggie Nikituk (Pittsburgh, PA / North Allegheny), and Amanda Turi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) were named to the honorable mention team.


Cantella, a sociology and criminal justice major with a 3.48 GPA, was third in the PAC with 95 saves and fourth in goals against average (1.27) and saving percentage (.798). Cantella ended her collegiate career with 358 saves and 19 shutouts, both ranked second all-time in Westminster women's soccer history.


Steele, a psychology major with a 3.90 GPA, started in 19 games. She tied for fourth on the team with a career-high two assists.


Westminster posted a 7-8-5 overall record and a seventh-place record of 2-4-3 in the PAC.
