College names new sports information director

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Westminster College has hired Nathan LaRiccia as sports information director. LaRiccia starts January 2 and will be responsible for publicizing Westminster's 20 NCAA Division III varsity sports.

LaRiccia takes over for Justin Zackal who joined Westminster College in 2006.  Zackal has moved on to a new opportunity as a marketing and social media coordinator for HigherEdJobs.com.

LaRiccia comes to Westminster from Adrian College in Michigan, where he has served as assistant sports information director with primary responsibility for 11 varsity sports. Before joining Adrian, he served as a sports information graduate assistant at Heidelberg University and also worked in the sports information office at the University of Mount Union.

He has additional media relations experience with the United States Olympic Committee, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Cincinnati Reds, and United States Golf Association.

LaRiccia, an Austintown, Ohio, native, earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies from Kent State University and his master's from Heidelberg University.
