PITTSBURGH (AP) - A former Nazi guard who has lived for decades in Mercer County is fighting the government's effort to deport him.

Anton Geiser has acknowledged serving as an armed guard at three Nazi death camps, but he maintains that his service was not voluntary.

Geiser's lawyer is set to argue his case Dec. 6 before the Board of Immigration Appeals in Fairfax, Va.

Geiser came to the U.S. in 1956 and became a citizen six years later. He's now an 87-year-old retired steelworker living in Sharon.

A federal immigration judge ordered in 2010 that Geiser be deported to Austria, or any other country that will accept him, because of his past.

Attorney Adrian Roe says Geiser wants to stay in Mercer County near his children.
