BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (AP) — Police say a Lawrence County woman had her 1-year-old daughter in tow when she shoplifted more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from a Wal-Mart then ran into the woods and hid from police for three hours.
Online court records don't list an attorney for 27-year-old Sara Beth Gasper, of Ellwood City, who also doesn't have a listed phone.
She faces a Dec. 17 hearing on retail theft, child endangerment and other charges stemming from the incident Nov. 10 in Chippewa Township.
Police say Gasper was charged last week.
Police say the woman left the store about 2:45 p.m. without paying for unspecified items in her cart, a diaper bag and her purse.
Police say the found Gasper hiding behind a tree in the nearby woods shortly after dark.
