Learning a hard lesson about identity theft

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- David Nicholson graduates from Westminster in May but will leave more more than just his degree.  His college days included a stressful lesson about identity theft.  Someone hacked Nicholson's bank account and went on a spending spree in another country. 

The investigative credit search company, Star Systems, reports that one in every 20 adults have been victims of some form of identity theft since 2003.   In 2007, the Federal Trade Commission registered more than 800,000 consumer fraud and identity theft complaints.  So what would you do if your bank called to ask if you had yanked hundreds of dollars from your bank account.

WCN's Connor Kobis has his story, how it can happen as well as some simple tips you can follow to protect yourself from identity theft.
