Janet Verone has stood up for Cascade Park and the history that it contains. As the community began to lose sight of the park's potential, Janet formed a committee to help with the upkeep of the park grounds. Through her dedication, she has given hope and preservation to Cascade's past, present, and future existence.

Founded by Lorraine Vesceri and Linda Leitel, Fur-Ever Family has been the home of hundreds of stray cats in Ellwood City and beyond. Watch how one loving and caring cat shelter has changed so many lives.

Out of Sight but Never out of Heart

June Floyd, a retired employee of the Jameson Health System, has volunteered her time for the past 10 years to comfort families of patients going into surgery, as well as volunteering extra time in the Diabetes and Endocrine Center. Her generosity continues as she helps the elderly at her church. While June tends to stay behind the scenes, those who are closest to her have noticed how she makes a difference.

Student Producers Win Documentary Contest

One Person Can Make A Differnce

Two groups of Westminster College students produced documentaries that won awards in The Christophers' 21st Annual Video Contest for College Students.

"These documentaries were produced using consumer level production equipment as opposed to professional level," Corso said. "I wanted students to see what can be done today with readily available and affordable production equipment."

Shoot for the Horizon

A Mass Communications Mini-Documentary

One woman shows her love and dedication outside of school. The Special Olympics holds a special place in Missy Niebala's heart and although she coaches numerous sports, this documentary focuses on the Horizon Bears Basketball team.

Mass Communications Class Produces Mini-Documentaries

Westminster College students in Communication Studies instructor Keith Corso's Mass Communications class produced documentaries which are available for online viewing.

Based on the theme "One Person Can Make a Difference," the films have been entered in a video contest sponsored by The Christophers, a non-profit organization that encourages people to use their talents to make a positive difference in the world.
