Wilmington Area High School football star Derrick Burns will return to Greyhound Stadium for another football season for his senior year this fall, however the running back and linebacker will head to the University of Pittsburgh in 2010. Burns will receive a full ride to the University by joining the Panther football squad after graduating high school following in the footsteps of his older brother and Pitt running back Chris Burns. The younger Burns has given his verbal commitment to Pitt. In fact, he was the first commitment for 2010 the Panthers received.

The Greyhounds crush the Raiders in a 64-0 win on Friday. After losing their last home game against Hickory the Hounds were determined to never let that happen again.
Wilmington shut out Reynolds at Greyhound Stadium Friday night with a final score of 64-0.
The Hounds home win over the Raiders moves the Greyhounds two victories past the squad's only loss in the season to Hickory two weeks ago.
The Farrell football team ranked #2 in this week's Pennsylvania AP High School Poll for Class A schools.
The Wilmington Greyhound football squad, defending state Class AA high school champs, continue to rank high as well. This week the Hounds came in the 10th. Wilmington has a 5-1 record with the only loss to Hickory.
However, Hickory also makes the top 10, ranked #9 this week.

The Hounds defeated the Tigers 21-7. Next week they will play at home against Reynolds High School.
