Men's Basketball: Titans Fall, 71-48, at Thomas More

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The Westminster College men's basketball team lost 71-48 at Thomas More Wednesday night in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action. The Titans dropped to 4-10 overall and 0-6 in the PAC, while the Saints improved to 12-3 overall and 5-1 in the conference.
Westminster, down 19-8 with 8:39 on the clock in the first half, went on a 13-0 run to cut Thomas More's lead to 21-19 with 2:21 remaining. The run was capped off with a layup by junior Anthony Thomas (New Castle, PA / Union). The Saints led 26-23 at halftime.
In the second half, Thomas More outscored Westminster 45-25 as it shot 40.6% (13-for-32) from the floor and 18-for-21 from the free throw line.
For the game, Westminster shot 33.9% (20-59) and Thomas More shot 37.5% (18-48).
Westminster senior Doug Smith (South Park, PA / South Park) led the Titans with 11 points, including a game-high three three-pointers. Thomas scored 10 points, while senior Adam Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) and sophomore Mark Hockenberry (Hanover, PA / South Western) scored nine and seven points, respectively. Thomas dished-out a game-high five assists. On the glass, Hockenberry had a game-high five rebounds. Carswell led both teams with three blocks.
The Titans will begin a three-game homestand. First up is Geneva on Saturday at 4 p.m
