Men's Basketball: Titans Fall, 82-70, in Physical Match to Saint Vincent

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 82-70, to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Saint Vincent Saturday inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium. The Titans dropped to 6-13 overall and 2-9 in the conference, while the Bearcats improved to 14-5 overall and 9-1 in the PAC.
Saint Vincent led 15-2 at the 15:37 mark in the first half which was capped off with a three-pointer from Chris Klimchock. The Titans battled back and cut the Bearcats' lead to 18-15 with 10:22 remaining in the half. Saint Vincent led 43-32 at intermission.
The Bearcats maintained their double-digit lead in the second half and had their largest of 21 points (75-54) with 5:53 remaining in regulation.
Junior Anthony Thomas (New Castle, PA / Union) led Westminster with 18 points (6-for-11), including a perfect 6-for-6 shooting performance from the free throw line. Also scoring in double-figures for the Titans were senior Ron Martino (Youngstown, OH / Cardinal Mooney), senior Adam Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin), and freshman Paul Carswell (Painesville, OH / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) with 16, 12, and 12 points, respectively. Adam Carswell also grabbed down a game-high 12 boards and had a game- and career-high five blocks.
For Saint Vincent, Dillon Stith and Chris Klimchock scored a game-high 20 points each, while Grant Latus led on the glass with 11 rebounds.
The Titans will look to get back in the win column when they travel to Bethany next Wednesday at 8 p.m.
