NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team remained first in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) standings Wednesday after a 3-0 shutout win over the visiting Washington & Jefferson Presidents. This was the Titans' first win over the Presidents since 2009 when they also won 3-0.

The Titans improved to 8-2-1 overall and 2-0 in the PAC, while the Presidents dropped to 2-5-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the conference.

Westminster freshman Ethan McCarthy (New Castle, PA/Neshannock) scored the first goal of the game and fourth of the season at the 8:55 mark as sophomore Ryan Francis (Harwick, PA/Springdale) made a well-executed through ball in the box.

Adding insurance for the Titans were freshmen Austin Ewers (New Wilmington, PA/Wilmington Area) (29:41) and Marcel Howard (Newport News, VA / Heritage) (73:06). This was Ewers's fourth goal of the season and Howard's second.

Westminster senior goalie Adam Kephart (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver County Christian) had four saves in 90 minutes of work.

The Titans will host Geneva on Saturday at 8 p.m. under the lights of Harold Burry Stadium. The match will be streamed live here.
