Men's Tennis: Titans Beat Presidents 8-1 for Second Consecutive Win

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's tennis team won its second straight match on Saturday with an 8-1 score over Washington and Jefferson. The Titans improved to 3-8 overall and to 3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). The Presidents fell to 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in the PAC.
At first singles, Senior Drew Trifelos (Newark, OH / Granville Christian Academy) won 6-0, 6-1. Junior Brad Thomas (Warren, OH / Champion) won at third singles 6-4, 6-1. At fourth singles, freshman Mike Matisi (Lowellville, OH / Lowellville) won 6-2, 6-2.
Junior Ryan Carr (Cheektowaga, NY / Cheektowaga Central) won at fifth singles 6-2, 6-3. Classmate junior Marshall Finelli (Girard, OH / Ursuline) won at sixth singles 6-1, 6-2.
The Titans won all three points in doubles. The duo of Drew Trifelos and Brad Thomas won at first doubles, 9-7. Junior Sean Black (Aurora, OH / Aurora) and Mike Matisi won at second doubles with a score of 8-2. The pair of Ryan Carr and freshman Mark Andino (Norwalk, CT) won at third doubles, 8-4.
Westminster will look to make it three straight wins on Tuesday (4:00pm) at home versus Allegheny.
