COCHRANTON, Pa. (AP) - State police say the death of a man found in a partially burned van in Mercer County is "suspicious."
The Mercer County coroner has yet to rule on the cause of death of 58-year-old David Dignall, of Carlton, which is several miles away from where his body was found Thursday evening.
State police from Mercer say Dignall was found when firefighters responded to a vehicle fire about 5:30 p.m. in French Creek Township, about 75 miles north of Pittsburgh.
Troopers say Dignall was found outside the Ford Aerostar Van and was partially burned, as was the vehicle.
It wasn't immediately clear how the vehicle caught fire and whether the fire or something else killed Dignall.
A state police news release says investigators are treating the case as a "suspicious death."
