SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Slippery Rock University Athletic Department says members of the staff and team members are in mourning after the sudden death of potential men's basketball student athlete Jack Hill Jr.
The 21-year old senior studying information systems from Roselle, N.J., collapsed during a men's basketball conditioning session Friday night in Morrow Field House. Coaches and other players rushed to give him CPR until paramedics arrived. He was rushed to Grove City Medical Center, where he died just after midnight.
SRU head men's basketball coach Kevin Reynolds says Hill was a member of The Rock basketball team last winter but did not participate in any practices or games.
