SHENANGO TOWNSHIP, Pa.- A Lawrence County mother and her 8-year old daughter died in a fire that ripped through their Shenango Township home on Friday morning.  A state police fire marshal says the bodies of 31-year-old Lisa Oliver and 8-year-old Katherine Thomas were found by firefighters as they battled the blaze.

Investigators say the fire started in the home's master bedroom, but determining its cause has been difficult because the home partially collapsed. A second 11-year-old daughter, whose name isn't being released, has been hospitalized with burns after jumping out a second-floor window.

Yungling says Oliver's husband, who is a stepfather to the two girls, was working the overnight shift at Jameson Hospital in nearby New Castle when the fire was reported about 1:30 a.m.
