NEW WILMINGTON, PA-- Local cable provider Armstrong Cable have informed customers that they will be seeing some slight rate increases and have already undergone switches to some of their programming. All of this has customers and campus wide users at Westminster College asking what exactly is going on.
In a letter labeled "important notification", Armstrong notified customers of the rate increase beginning in March 2012.
"The price for Basic Cable Service will be $56.45....The prices for Television Plus, Variety Pack, Value Pack and additional equipment will increase $.55. "
Vice President of Cable Marketing Dave Whitman says the increase is not exclusive to New Wilmington or Lawrence County. Rate changes with Armstrong will occur within six states over the next 30 days.
As far as the changes to favorite channels, those have been small as well. Shortly after returning to school from winter break, Westminster Students noticed some changes to their cable programming. Naturally this caused some confusion. Whitman stated that on January 31, two channels changed.
CNN Headline News moved from channel 51 to channel 24. And campus favorite ABC Family also moved from channel 50 to channel 16. So students have no fear, you can still watch Pretty Little Liars every Monday! Whitman added that while channel changes like this do cause confusion and in most cases an inconvenience, they are made to keep rates down and appease contractual obligations.
