Search continues for missing Mercer County man

MERCER, Pa. (AP) - State police have resumed their search for a missing Mercer County man a week after he apparently wandered away from the home that his family says he's normally too frightened to leave.

Eighty-year-old Donald Mariacher was reported missing July 13. He lives in East Lackawannock Township and is reportedly agoraphobic - meaning he doesn't like to leave his home.

Police say his wife isn't able to help much because her short-term memory is poor. Among other reasons, police are concerned because the man has high-blood pressure and because temperatures have been hot since he was last seen.

The man's family says the man also left his house three months ago with a wad of cash and was found lying in some roadside brush hours later.
