NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- The vote totals from February's Student Government Election at Westminster declared Slate Wiest the winner. The 11-member slate will now prepare plans to take over the leadership of SGA from Slate Darby at the end of the academic year.
SGA President-elect Emily Wiest and Vice President-elect Adam Seymour talked with WCN about the election and issues they plan to address as campus leaders.
"Slate Darby was an absolutely amazing experience," Wiest said. "I would not be here without them."
The SGA Pres-elect says her team is working to expand use of the Titan Card at area businesses, like El-Canelo in New Castle. Slate Darby worked to partner with Sheetz in Neshannock to allow students to use their Titan Card for purchases. Wiest hopes to build on that effort.
As VP-elect, Adam Seymour will head up the planning and execution of VolleyRock. He says last year's schedule was different to adjust for scheduling problems with the musical act at the concert.
"We're hoping to go back to the schedule it was in previous years," Seymour said. "Friday is the night of the concert. Saturday is the tournament with the wings. We are trying to add more activities on Friday before the concert."
President-elect Wiest talks plans to tighten the collaboration between SGA and CPC.
