"Snitch" (2013) | Rated PG-13 | Summit Entertainment | Directed by Ric Roman Waugh

Running time: 112 minutes  |  Reviewer's score: B+

The movie is about John Matthews (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) who becomes a snitch for the feds.  "Snitch" offers a switch on the theme of sacrifice to save another as the father goes undercover for the DEA in order to free his son, Jason Matthews (Rafi Gavron), who was framed for a crime.

The son faces charges carry a minimum of 10 years in prison. The only way that the prison sentence can be commuted is by Jason telling the police about other drug dealers so the cops can arrest them. Jason being like most teenage kids who do not want to rat out their friends, refuses to give the cops any information. This puts the family in a bind as Jason by not giving the police any information faces a lot of jail time coming his way.  "The Rock's" character returns with his new family  (a wife and baby daughter) in tow as he attempts to redeem himself with Jason. He wants to do anything in his power to prove to his son that he cares about him and does not want him in jail.

.

A federal prosecutor Joanne Keegan (Susan Sarandon) makes a deal where "The Rock" can help the police bust the real drug dealers and free his son.

I personally could not take my eyes off of the movie as the story moves with plenty of action. I was very interested and entertained throughout the entire film. I am not a big fan of action and drama movies but this one really got my attention. The movie had me guessing on what was going to happen next. I would advise people who like action with a decent storyline to go watch this movie. If I had to rate this movie I would give it a B+. This is a movie I will definitely buy when it comes out on DVD.
