Softball: Titans Split Two Games in Final Day in Florida

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Westminster College (3-7) softball team split two games on Friday in its final day in the Rebel Spring Games. The Titans won, 5-2, against Simpson in game one and lost, 5-0, to Muskingum in game two.

Senior Katie Hughes (Boardman, OH / Cardinal Mooney) led Westminster in game one with four RBI, including a two-run home run in the first inning. Junior Kelsey Squlech (Pittsburgh, PA / Perry Traditional) also contributed on offense as she went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Freshman Ashley Smith (Spartansburg, PA / Titusville) pitched a complete game and improved to 1-2 on the year.


In game two, senior Brittany Gamble (Poland, OH / Poland Seminary) led the offense with a team-high two hits.


Westminster is back in action on March 18 when it host Mt. Aloyisius for a doubleheader in the Titans' home opener. First game is slated for 3:30 p.m.
