NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- Watch the volunteer efforts of more than 60 students, staffers and faculty during their 2012 spring break. These individuals gave their time, raised money and put their bodies and minds to work for others and our cameras traveled with them.
WCN presents SPRING BREAK WITH A PURPOSE. The program documents the journeys of three teams from Westminster. Two teams traveled to work with Habitat for Humanity projects. A third team went to Edisto Island, SC. They worked side by side with the Edisto Island Mission. This 60 minute program on WCN spotlights the efforts of the volunteers who donated more than 9,000 hours this semester to the call of service.
You can also watch the program online. It includes coverage of separate spring service efforts from other faculty in the Caribbean as well as the unique service efforts Titan Traverse involved its members on its adventure to Colorado. We invite comments and encourage you to share the program. It also features the music of JD Eicher and the Goodnights.
The SPRING BREAK WITH A PURPOSE show is a collaboration of students from the Broadcast Journalism II course. Class members Ryan Johnston, Ahsley Durham and Joe Ligo worked with and documented the Edisto team. Hannah Paczkowski, Courtney Crown and Connor Kobis traveled with the crew to Sumnter, SC. Corey Benedict, Josh Dunn and instructor Brad Weaver joined with the team in Raleigh, NC. The program was produced by Alyssa Hanna as part of her television producing course.
