NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.– Organizers for the Westminster College Tiny House Project (THP) reached a milestone this week with the arrive of their newly constructed tiny house on campus.
The THP crew announced the move via Instagram on Friday.
“The Tiny House has arrived on campus! It still needs another coat of paint and to be moved to its permanent location, but it’s home!”
The Tiny House Project is designed to make Westminster a leader in environmental and sustainability education.
Campus volunteers joined with students at the New Castle School of Trades to build the home.
Once the tiny house is relocated and completed, the first student will prepare to live in it.
Environmental Science faculty plan to create a THP-linked course that will offer students to experience “tiny living” for approximately one-two weeks (new students will rotate into the THP’s every one-two weeks).
The goal of the project is to incorporates tiny living into the student’s academic experience while making Westminster College as an innovator in sustainability education.
