Thousands gather for the 97th Pa. Farm Show

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The Pennsylvania Farm Show opens this weekend in Harrisburg, bringing some 400,000 people to the annual event that puts the focus on the state's agricultural heritage and products.
The show formally opens Saturday and will run eight days, with livestock judging, cooking contests, rodeo and tractor pulls.
Pennsylvania's celebration of farm life is the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the country, with nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibitis and 300 commercial exhibits. The 2013 show runs from Jan. 5-12.

It's the 97th Farm Show, and the theme is "Made in PA. It Makes a Difference," highlighting the state's agricultural products.
