NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- Christmas season is the time for family, carols and gift giving. Many people have been blessed with waking up to presents under the tree on Christmas morning but for several children, they do not wake up to any presents.

With the fall of the economy, many adults are losing jobs which makes it a struggle to put food on their table and even harder to afford holiday gifts.

That is why Westminster College’s Chapel Office has the annual Angel Giving Tree. Students and faculty can select a card that has the name of a child with their wish
list on it. These children come from at risk families in the local area.

Church Relations Director Rev. James Mohr explains how the tree spreads Christmas spirit.

With the help of the Big Brothers Big Sister organization, the Walker House ministry program, both based in New Castle and the Pennsylvania Homeless Society. The Angel Giving Tree will put smiles on children faces once again.
