Titan Radio DJ That is Larger Than Life

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- You will find a number of people here at Westminster College that DJ for Titan radio, but none bigger than Corey Benedict. Corey is a junior Broadcast Communications with a minor in Spanish. He has a morning show every Friday morning with his close friend and DJ partner Jarred Treshok. Together, they host the J-Tresh and DJ Benny Morning Show eight to ten. Benedict says working with a friend makes it easier to prep for the morning show.

“We usually will walk together from our dorm room to the station discussing the world of sports. That is what we talk about the most on our show. It is very easy to work with Jarred and very easy to come up with ideas real quick.”

You will not just find Corey in the radio station. He is a Left Tackle on the Titan Football team as well. He is also an avid sports fan of Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates.  He spends his spare time following sports and playing video games with friends.

Now one thing you might not know about Corey is his theme song of his life. It might surprise you.

“Larger than Life by the Backstreet Boys. It just fits me. It has my whole life.”

Corey has advice for future people coming into Titan Radio as well.

“Just have fun with it and get involved. The more involved you are, the more fun you will have. And when you are doing a show, you have to have fun or the show will be boring.”

It’s not hard to miss Corey around campus. If you find him do not be afraid to say hi or ask for a shout out on his show. He will be more than willing to give you on his show.
