NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College head swimming & diving coach, Rob Klamut, recently returned from the NCAA Swimming & Diving annual meeting that was held in Indianapolis, Ind. on July 10-12. Klamut served as the Chair of the Division III Committee meeting and was also the first Division III Chair to run the joint meeting of all NCAA divisions.

"It was an exciting and daunting experience," said Klamut. "There were a lot of things to discuss. The more daunting task was when all three Divisions came together at the same time. Since it was the first time ever for a Division III Chair to run the joint meeting, it was a little intimidating but it went well."

Some of the discussions included making the championship meet a better experience for the student-athletes, setting new qualifying times for next year's championship, and updating the championship manual.

This experience also gave Klamut the opportunity to promote Westminster at a national level.

"A lot of people came up to me afterwards and wanted to know about Westminster," added Klamut. "I got a lot of favorable comments from the Division I coaches. They wanted to know where Westminster was. Overall, the experience was great for the institution and a good experience for Westminster in general."

Klamut enters his 28th year as the head men's and women's swimming and diving coach at Westminster in 2012-13.
