Track & Field: Pole Vaulters Compete at YSU Invite; Kalsey Breaks School Record

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Pole Vaulters of the Westminster College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Youngstown State University Icebreaker over the weekend against Division I and II schools.


Westminster freshman Marissa Kalsey (Waynesburg, PA / Waynesburg) highlighted the day with a second place tie out of 20 competitors with a school record mark of 3.55 meters. The record was previously held by Merrissa Malcolm (3.35 m.).

Junior Haley Gabor (New Kensington, PA / Ford City) also competed for the Titans with a 13th place finish tie (3.00 m.)

For the men, senior Mark Saylor (West Middlesex, PA / West Middlesex) tied for second out of 17 competitors with a mark of 4.40 meters. Rounding out the participants for the Titans was freshman Andrew Brannen (Pittsburgh, PA / Peters Township) who tied for 14th (3.95 m.).


The pole vaulters will compete at Bucknell on Dec. 8 and the rest of the track & field teams will begin the season on Jan. 18 at the Baldwin-Wallace Mid-January Meet.
