NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- The end of the semester at Westminster College comes with heavy hearts for students suffering the loss of parents in the past week.
Police in Mercer County say 45-year old Candi Braswell of Adamsville died Sunday in a motorcycle crash north of Greenville. Campus officials confirmed Braswell was the mother of graduating senior Jennifer Krueger. Jennifer is scheduled to receive her degree in biology at Saturday’s commencement. Campus counselors, staff, faculty and students are reaching out to her with support and prayers.
Meanwhile, the three surviving children of the Alouise family from Washington County are also coping with the loss of both parents. John and Debra Alouise died on Friday when a car slammed head-on into their minivan. The car’s driver also died. Scott Alouise, a passenger in his parent’s vehicle, was hospitalized for injuries.
His two sisters, Alyssa and Marah, have been by his side. Marah has had many people by her side. She will be a senior next year at Westminster studying special education. That’s where a campus family has pulled together to offer emotional and financial support. Marah’s sorority sisters from Sigma Kappa say they are her family away from home.
They are working the social media networks like Facebook to stay informed and raise money. Sigma Kappa members Alyssa Hanna and Aleya Tylinski share more about how the campus family is reaching out to the Alouise family.
