NEW CASTLE, Pa.-- Three Westminster students arrested in an alleged burglary in New Wilmington earlier this month face additional charges that include criminal conspiracy and felony drug charges. The students also waived their preliminary hearing in New Castle at Central Court this week.
New Wilmington police arrested 22-year old Patrick John Dever, 19-year old Anthony Joseph Mazzocchi and 19-year old Nicholas Ryan Hainsey on Oct. 14. Officers say they found the three hiding inside the Jemco storage building on East Neshannock Street around 3 a.m. The students are accused of burglary, criminal trespass, hindering apprehension along with other charges.
NWPD withdrew the original criminal complaints on Tuesday and refiled the case adding more charges. The new ones include criminal conspiracy to trespass and burglary. Police also filed a felony charge of distribution of a controlled substance against Dever. Police say the drug charges are connected with the prescription medication Adderall. Officers say they found the medication on Mazzocchi. He faces charges of possession.
Each student is free on $10,000 bail.
