Volleyball: Titans Avenge Bethany with 3-0 Win

BETHANY, W. Va. - The Westminster College volleyball team avenged Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Bethany on Tuesday with a 3-0 win. The Titans lost 1-3 to the Bison earlier in the season. Westminster extended its win streak to six matches and improved to 18-7 overall and 8-4 in the PAC, while the Bison dropped to 20-5 overall and 9-2 in the conference.


Westminster outlasted Bethany in set one and won 31-28. The Titans were more in control in set two, winning 25-18 before winning a close set three, 25-23.


Sophomore Kassie Freyermuth (Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) led Westminster with 12 kills. Juniors Megan Romocean (Ravenna, OH / Southeast) and Rebecca Riemer (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) added 10 and six kills, respectively. Junior Katie Palkovic (Camp Hill, PA / Trinity) dished out a team-high 41 assists. Senior Tara Incerpi (Carrollton, OH / Minerva) led the defense with 19 digs, while earning two aces. Sophomore Julie Powell (Meadville, PA / Meadville) added a season-high 15 digs. Freyermuth and Riemer had 4.5 blocks each, while Romocean had one. 

Westminster will host Washington & Jefferson on Thursday at 7 p.m.
