Volleyball: Titans Split at Thiel Tri-Match

GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Westminster College volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Thiel Tri-Match on Saturday. The Titans lost 2-3 against Thiel in game one and shutout Chatham, 3-0, in the nightcap.
Westminster (12-6, 6-3) came from behind down 0-2 against Thiel. The Titans rallied and won set three 25-19 and set four 25-23, but lost 10-15 in the final set.
In game one, Westminster sophomore Kassie Freyermuth (Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) led the Titans with a career-high 16 kills to go along with two blocked assists. Junior Katie Palkovic (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity) earned and team-high 52 assists and tied senior Tara Incerpi (Carrollton, OH / Minerva) with a team-best 26 digs. Freshman Megan Prybyl (Mars, PA/North Catholic) added two aces.
In game two, freshman Tiffany Jackson (Las Vegas, NV / Las Vegas) earned a career-high 23 assists, while Prybyl led the offense with 11 kills. Junior Lexi Starheim (Hubbard, OH/Hubbard) added 10 kills, a solo block and a block assists. Incerpi earned 10 digs.
Westminster will host Bethany on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
