Volleyball: Titans Win, 3-2, in PAC Showdown at Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. - The Westminster College volleyball team won, 3-2, at Saint Vincent in a highly contested Presidents' Athletics Conference (PAC) match on Saturday. The Titans improved to 20-7 overall and 10-4 in the PAC, while the Bearcats dropped to 9-13 overall and 4-9 in the conference.


Westminster won set one 28-26 and set two 25-20, however Saint Vincent rallied and won set three and four by the same score of 25-16 to force a fifth game tiebreaker. Down 12-10 in the fifth set, the Titans rallied and went on a 5-0 run to win 15-12. 

Westminster freshman Tiffany Jackson (Las Vegas, NV / Las Vegas) earned career-highs 40 assists and 19 digs. Junior Megan Romocean (Ravenna, OH / Southeast) earned a double-double with 19 kills and 14 digs. Freshman Megan Prybyl (Mars, PA / North Catholic) and sophomore Kassie Freyermuth ( Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) followed with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Junior Rebecca Riemer (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) added seven kills, while PAC Player of the Week junior Lexi Starheim (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) contributed with five kills.


Senior Tara Incerpi (Carrollton, OH / Minerva) led the Titan defense with 22 digs. Starheim had a team-high seven blocks (two solo, five assists). Also recording a block was Freyermuth (4), Riemer (3), Romocean (3), and Prybyl (1).


Westminster will host Geneva on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
