Titan Basketball Family

The Titans preach family on and off the court

NEW WILMINGTON, PA-- The Westminster Titan men's basketball team has a special motto this season to reflect their selflessness. Family.

"Forget about me, I love you," said Titan player John Romero. "Basically, it's just that we're a support system."

As that support system, the team traveled to New Castle in order to pack boxes of food for families in need. Salvation Army Captain Geoffrey Swires said that with help from the Titans, the process took considerably less time.

"In the matter of an hour, the team was able to do what it took three days to do without the help, so it was great for us, great for the community."

Junior Anthony Thomas is from the New Castle area and feels an obligation to help those in need from his hometown.

"Being from this community, I've seen the people that walk the streets everyday because they have nothing, so I think it's important that we give back because we're fortunate enough that we can do that."
