Women's Basketball: No. 11 Thomas More Cruises Past the Titans, 85-38

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - Eleventh-ranked Thomas More made 12 three-pointers en route to a 85-38 victory over Westminster College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) women's basketball action Wednesday night. The Titans dropped to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in the PAC, while the Saints improved to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in the conference.


Thomas More jumped out to a 12-2 lead at the 16:06 mark in the first half. Westminster, down 17-7, midway through the half, cut the Saints' lead to 17-13 after a 6-0 run that was capped off by a fast-break layup from junior Gabby Holko (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Alvernia). Senior Jenn Cantella (Freedom, PA / Freedom) earned the assist. Thomas More responded with a 20-0 run and led 37-13 with 1:25 on the clock. The Saints led 42-19 at intermission and maintained their double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.


For the game, Westminster shot 37.5% (15-for-40) and Thomas More shot 50.0% (32-for-64).


Holko led the Titans with 15 points (6-of-8) for her sixth-straight game scoring in double digits. Sophomore Jenna Grandy (Sharpsville, PA / Sharpsville) scored a team-high three three-pointers. Senior Andi Ridge (North Tonawanda, NY / Starpoint) had a team-high four rebounds. Senior Katie Hughes (Boardman, OH / Cardinal Mooney) and sophomore Courtney Klein (York, PA / Red Lion) followed with three rebounds each. Hughes tied a career-high with a team-high four steals. Cantella dished-out a team-high four assists.


Westminster will enter a three-game home stand starting with Geneva on Saturday at 2 p.m.
