Women's Soccer: Titans Come Back to Win in OT

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team came back from a 2-0 deficit in the second half to win 3-2 in overtime against the visiting Franciscan Barons. The Titans improved to 3-2-1, while Franciscan dropped to 1-4.


Junior Maggie Nikituk (Pittsburgh, PA / North Allegheny) put the Titans on the scoreboard with a goal from 15 yards out at the 62:21 mark.


With two minutes left in regulation, junior Amanda Turi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) tied the game 2-2 as she broke away from the Barons' defense and scored her third goal of the season.


Turi was also part of the game-winning goal in overtime as she made a perfect pass to freshman Krista Edwards (Summerville, PA / Springdale) (97:23). This was Edwards's third goal for the season.


Westminster senior goalie Jenn Cantella (Freedom, PA/Freedom) gathered in four saves in 97:23 minutes of play.


Westminster will take a five-game road trip. First up for the Titans will be at Penn State-Behrend on Saturday at 1 p.m.
