NEW CASTLE, Pa.– New Castle police say they are searching for a man in connection with a double shooting that left one man dead.   On April 11, two men were sent to UPMC Jameson with gunshot wounds and 35-year old Michael Riser of Michigan later died.  The other man was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.

According to a press release from the New Castle Police Department, shootings occurred in the 500 block of Waster Winter Avenue on April 11. 

According to the New Castle Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Unit, 27-year-old Anthony Thurman is wanted on charges in connection to the shooting.  They say he faces a warrant for criminal homicide, criminal Attempt to commit homicide and possession of firearms.

The NCPD is being assisted in this case by the Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Services Unit. Anyone with any information on this case is asked to contact the Criminal Investigative Unit at 724-656-3538 or tips can be left on our website at www.newcastlepd.com.
