NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.– Westminster College, a place the always wants to make people smile. The Pre-Vet Society did just that with their event “Smooch a Pooch”.  A perfect event to hold on Valentine’s Day so college students and faculty could show some love to their furry little friends. About 15 dogs packed into Berlin Lounge ready to make students laugh and forget about the stress of college for a couple hours.

The Pre-Vet Society at Westminster holds many different events throughout the year having to deal with animals. This event in particular was a charitable event that they put on. Everyone had to pay $1 to come into Berlin Lounge for the lunch hour and play with the dogs. All of the money went to the Lawrence County Humane Society.

So it was a good event because students could come and play with the dogs while doing something good for others. This was a nice way to give back in an inexpensive way and it was a fun event to attend. Plus with it being Valentine’s Day it was a nice way to spread some love on this happy holiday in a positive light.

Reporter Emily Bondi takes us inside this charitable event and tells us more.
