NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.–  Thursday’s home opener of the 2019 season for the Westminster College football team falls on the first Thursday of the month and will make a little history at Burry Stadium with a series of other firsts.  The Titans open the season by hosting Capital University, but Westminster will make school history with its first-ever Thursday night game.

It’s also the first Thursday night game the Capital Crusaders have ever played.

And the firsts continue, as the non-conference matchup is the first-ever game between Westminster and Capitol in football.

The Westminster-Capital game will also be the first Division III game of the season in the NCAA.

And here’s one final first we should also point out for Titan fans.  Thursday night marks the first time back in official competition for the Titans on a new turf that crews installed over the summer.
