NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.– Over the course of the summer, Westminster College has been receiving a few updates. From new dorms to new carpet and paint, this new update has the fans screaming; Burry Stadium got new bleachers.

These brand spanking new bleachers will have you wanting to attend every home game of Westminster Athletics.

Not only did new bleachers get put in, but there are a few new features to them too. Each side, home and visitors, have a handicap accessible ramp and hand rails leading to each seat. One of the best features is the child, and phone, proof safety guards beneath each seat.

“There were concerns of a child being able to slip through the bleachers on the old set. So, with the new update we added safety guards to the structure for this reason.”, said Ken Roming Vice President of Finance.

The bleacher project cost $363K.  According to Romig, the money came from a multi-million dollar 30-year bond the college is using to make capital improvements across campus, including upgrades in dorms and to Hoyt.

With all the new updates to the school underway, the Westminster Athletics are popping with their shiny new bleachers and happy fans.
