NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.- Police arrested a 69-year old Allegheny County man for allegedly posing as a cop and harassing Westminster College students with lies of kidnappings, rapes and murders.

New Wilmington police chief Carmen Piccirillo filed charges against Thomas Turpie including impersonating a public servant and disorderly conduct.

Witnesses told police Turpie showed up at Mugsies coffee shop in New Wilmington on February 16.  Officers say he approached female college students, posing as a cop and harassed and scared them with made up stories. He claimed criminals lived on campus, abducting and killing coeds. Police say none of that was true.
