GROVE CITY, Pa. (Titan Athletics)– The Westminster College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at Grove City College in the Grove City Twilight 5k on Friday evening.
The women’s placed first with an overall score of 14. The Titan men competed individual only.
For the women, junior Katie Schrantz (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) took first-place with a time of 19:46.0. First-year Kelly Somora (Grove City, PA / Grove City Area) finished next for the Titans, running a time of 20:09.0, good for fourth-place. Sophomore’s Maddie Keenan (Cranberry, PA / Cranberry) (5th/20:21.0), Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) (7th/20:37.0), and Allison Hampton (Ten Sleep, WY / Ten Sleep) (9th/20:45.0) rounded out the top five for the Titans.
For the men, sophomore Chase Waldschmidt (New Castle, PA / Shenango) finished best with a fourth-place time of 17:08.0. Junior Evan Vent (Pittsburgh, PA / South Fayette) placed next for Westminster, finishing seventh with a time of 17:39.0. Freshman Nathan Kraus (New Castle, PA / Shenango) (11th/18:14.0) and Spencer Naleppa (McDonald, PA / West Allegheny) (15th/19:55.0) rounded out the Titans.
