GIBSONIA, Pa. (Titan Athletics)– The Westminster College men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to Chatham University to compete in the Chatham Eden Hall Invitational on Friday evening.
The Titan women placed third out of seven teams with 70 points. The Titan men competed as individuals.
For the women, senior Katie Schrantz (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) finished in first place out of the 66 runners that competed with a time of 24:48.
First-year Mackenzie Rodarmel (Montoursville, PA / Loyalsock Township) was the next best finisher for the Titans, placing 14th with a time of 27:30. Junior Breanna Ferguson (Saegertown, PA / Saegertown) finished in 18th place with a time of 27:41. Junior Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) crossed the finish line next with a time of 27:43 to finish 19th. Junior Allison Hampton (Ten Sleep, WY / Ten Sleep) finished in 22nd place with a time of 28:01. Rounding out the top-seven finishers for Westminster were junior Faith Howell (Honesdale, PA / Honesdale) and senior Taylor Gatesman (Lucinda, PA / Greenwood), who finished in 30th and 37th place, respectively, with times of 28:36 and 29:54.
The Titan men were led in the 8K race by junior Harrison Keenan (Cranberry, PA / Cranberry), who finished 20th with a time of 30:35. Sophomore Nathan Kraus (New Castle, PA / Shenango) placed 29th with a time of 31:56 and senior Evan Vent (Pittsburgh, PA / South Fayette) placed 96th with a time of 32:24. Freshman Ian Jackson (Neshannock, PA / Neshannock) rounded out the male runners for Westminster, coming in 34th place with a time of 32:29.
Westminster will be back in action on Saturday, October 12 when it travels to Pittsburgh, PA to compete in the Carnegie Mellon University/Medical Center Invitational at 10 a.m.
