NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Westminster College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the 2017 NCAA Division III Mideast Region Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Dickinson College hosted the event.
The Titan women finished 18th out of 49 schools with 513, only one place away from tying their highest finish in school history. Sophomore Morgan Camerlo (Freeport, PA / St. Joseph) had the best finish for the Titans with a 37th-place time of 23:18.3 out of 351 runners. Senior Katelynn Morrell (Boardman, OH / Boardman) placed 62nd with a time of 23:52.8. Senior Paige Baierl (Bellevue, PA / Northgate) (24:53.9), first-year Allison Hampton (Ten Sleep, WY / Ten Sleep) (24:54.4), sophomore Katie Schrantz (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) (25:15.0), and first-year Marie Barnard (Millerstown, PA / Greenwood) (25:22.6) completed the Titan participants.
The Titan men placed 42nd out of 51 schools with 1,203 points. First-year Harrison Keenan (Cranberry, PA / Cranberry) had the best finish for Westminster with a time of 28:07.6 for
171st-place out of 365 runners. Freshman Adam Bettwy (Clarion, PA / Clarion) (29:23.8), senior Joshua McFall (New Castle, PA / New Castle) (29:41.9), freshman Chase Waldschmidt (New Castle, PA / Shenango) (29:57.3), junior Michael Peters (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) (30:14.3), senior Trevor Arrigoni (Canonsburg, PA / Canon McMillan) (30:18.9), and senior Nate Best (Parker, PA / Clarion Valley) (30:20.3) rounded out the Westminster runners.
