NEW CASTLE, Pa.-- September 11 is a day set aside for us not only to remember our lost fellow Americans but a way to volunteer our services to our local community. The Lawrence County United Way will observe September 11 a few days early. The annual Day of Caring is set for Thursday, September 9, at 8:00 am at Cascade Park Pavilion, with a full breakfast buffet donated by Medure’s Catering. The Honorable Chris Frye, Mayor City Of New Castle, will be our speaker.

“Day of Caring is recognized in conjunction with “Patriot Day” as people from all over the country volunteer in various ways such as donating blood, volunteering at various nonprofit programs and helping with parks and recreation, and organized labor has always stepped up to the plate to help our fellow man. The United Way Community Services Committee coordinates the events for our Day of Caring.
