NEW CASTLE, Pa.-- New Castle officials say a New Castle woman was flown to the hospital on Tuesday after rescuing her children from their burning home. Fire crews responded to the blaze on South Crawford Avenue before 6 AM.

They said the woman was able to get two of her small children out of the home and ran back for a third child. But that child was staying with a family member and wasn’t home.

The fire destroyed the home. Officials are investigating.
