NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (WC) Westminster College officials are closely monitoring the evolving global health situation resulting from an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) first detected in in Wuhan City, China, in December.
The Westminster College Wellness Center is following the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) related to colleges and universities. The Wellness Center maintains close contact with the Pennsylvania Department of Health regarding preventive care and treatment recommendations and is reviewing protocols and preparing for appropriate actions as the situation potentially evolves.
The College remains vigilant and has increased cleaning and disinfecting of common areas and surfaces such as doorknobs, handrails, faucets and switch panels. As the College prepares for Spring Break, students are encouraged to exercise caution and stay current with COVID-19 developments and travel advice found at the CDC travel site.
