YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Westminster College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed in Day One of the two-day Youngstown State Mid-Major Invite on Friday.
For the women, the day was highlighted by sophomore Haley Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) who set a new school-record in the women's indoor pentathlon event. Moore finished in 14th place, earning 2496 points over the five-event spread. Moore's performance put her at the top of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) performance list for the event, as well as in the top-30 on the NCAA Division III performance list. In other action, sophomore Morgan Gossard (Johnstown, PA / Richland) tied for a seventh-place mark in the seeded pole vault event with a leap of 3.58 meters.
For the men, junior Dalton Anderson (Butler, PA / Moniteau) competed in the first four events of the men's heptathlon, with the final three events taking place tomorrow. Anderson is currently in fourth place in the 13-runner field with 2583 points. Anderson's career-best in the heptathlon came at the 2019 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Championships when he accumulated 4204 points. In other action, senior Austin Chin (Boca Raton, FL / West Boca Raton) placed 31st in the weight throw with a toss of 12.54 meters.
The Titans will be back in action tomorrow for the second day of the Invitational starting at 8:30 a.m.
